(Carolina Journal) – Posting social media videos where he said "Donald J. Trump, I’m going to kill you” has delivered a criminal complaint for North Carolinian Christopher Carnes.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Brian Meyers signed the complaint accusing Carnes, 33 from Raleigh, of threatening to harm second-term Republican President Donald Trump. The language says Carnes did “knowingly and willfully making a threat to take the life, to kidnap, or to inflict bodily harm upon the President of the United States,” according to a release from U.S. Attorney Ellis Boyle’s office.

He faces up to five years in prison if convicted.

Investigators “established that Carnes was located in Raleigh when he posted the threatening Facebook videos,” according to the release. A June 6 video “referenced his prior threatening videos while talking about having pipe bombs.

Authorities met with Carnes at the Raleigh Police Department office on June 10.

“Carnes arrived in the same car from his Facebook videos,” according to the release. “After a canine alerted to the potential presence of explosive materials in the car, RPD officers searched his car and found PVC pipe and a metal pin.”
