Rest in peace Scott Adams. The creator of the “Dilbert” cartoon which poked fun at corporate America died yesterday from cancer at the age of 68. Adams brought humor and relief to many stuck in the corporate grind, who simply did not understand why the gurus of business seemed out of touch with reality, and added a note of whimsy to the very cutthroat world of corporation politics. In fact, his 1996 book entitled [The Dilbert Principle](https://www.perplexity.ai/search/was-scott-adams-the-dilbert-pr-w2XBdmbQTQqvDvg85CYCFA#0) was described as required or recommended reading for many business courses. But of course, he is not remembered for any of that. What pops up in any search about Adams is his remarks in a 2023 podcast where he talks about a poll asking the question “Its OK To Be White.” After sharing the results of the poll that said nearly half of Black respondents disagree with the statement that it is ok to be white, Adams basically [told his audience](https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/story/2023-02-28/scott-adams-dilbert-cancellation-racism-remarks) to just stay from Black people. There is no fixing this. It was all hyperbole of course, but Dilbert was pulled from syndication in many outlets as a result – calling Adams a racist – that old chestnut of cancelation policy when the facts are against liberals who hate it when you bring things like that up. Which is ironic – because he was pointing out the racist attitudes of many Blacks who think it is not ok to be white. Add to that Adams’ shift from being a liberal “left of Bernie” to an ardent supporter of President Trump, it is fair to say the left is not unhappy that Scott is no longer with us. Scott was right. There is no fixing the Liberal Left who from one side of their mouth proclaim that we must not be racist and sexist, and who from the other side of their mouths promote and defend diversity policies that are themselves racist and sexist – because they include the very real statement that blacks, women, and other so-called marginalized groups lack any inherent ability to make it in our country without pushing down others. But we can fix our country, and make sure that success is always determined by merit and hard work, and not by the color of our skin – by making sure diversity, equity, and inclusion policies – or any of a hundred other titles they are now called – are eliminated entirely.
