This is the Wilmington Standard Daily Update for Friday November 21, 2025.

The Democrats have lost every right to ever accuse the Republicans of an insurrection ever again.

Tuesday this week 6 Democrats – all of them veterans of the military or intelligence services – released a video passionately telling members of the armed services that they do not have to follow unlawful orders. These orders – of course – come directly or indirectly through the National Command Authority – the President of the United States.

As retired [Lt. Col. Robert Maginnis](https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/dangerous-war-games-telling-servicemembers-resist-trump-invites-pure-chaos) – who himself taught ethics and leadership in the US Army – puts it:

Let’s be clear about the real standard. Every U.S. service member has an absolute duty to refuse a clearly illegal order. This principle is deeply rooted in the Uniform Code of Military Justice, the Law of Armed Conflict, and the Nuremberg precedent. Orders to commit war crimes — such as deliberately targeting civilians — must be refused. This is not controversial; it’s taught in basic training, ROTC, West Point, OCS, and every professional military education course across the force.

In other words, every member of the armed services knows the difference between a lawful and unlawful order. And they are carrying out their duties.

These 6 Democrats cannot point out any unlawful order – or course. Just like everything else the Left does their entire goal is to sow discontent, disorder and chaos. Doing so with the United States military is a dangerous game. Trust in the chain of command is essential to good order and discipline and to the completion of the mission. These 6 Democrats – and the party that supports them – are treading dangerously close to sedition by encouraging the men and women who serve our country to doubt every order that comes their way – especially from duly elected and appointed civilian authorities.

Do we really want our military to decide domestic politics?

For the Wilmington Standard, I’m Reuel Sample. Thanks for listening.
