This is the Wilmington Standard Daily Update for Tuesday November 25, 2025.

[Fox News](https://www.foxnews.com/us/parents-sue-11-year-old-girl-forced-share-bed-transgender-student-school-trip) is reporting that several parents are suing the Jefferson County School District in Colorado for attempting to put a transgender girl – which means a boy – in the same room and same bed with an 11-year-old girl on a field trip. The young lady’s mother was on the trip as a chaperone and was able to respond to her daughter’s plea for help.

We should shudder at the thought of what would have happened if her mom was not along. And we should be furious about the number of times things like this go on without parents knowing about it.

Turns out the Jefferson County School District does have a policy about boys and girls being in the same room on field trips. On that particular outing, the boys were actually on a completely different floor.

But, according to the [lawsuit](https://www.foxnews.com/us/parents-sue-11-year-old-girl-forced-share-bed-transgender-student-school-trip), the school district DOES allow biologically male students to share overnight accommodations with girls based solely on gender identity without notifying parents or seeking their consent. In other words, if a biological boy is feeling particularly girlish for a given outing, the Jefferson County School District has no problems with him sleeping with the real girls for the night.

The Jefferson County School District in Colorado is of course run by union-endorsed groups that are [very left leaning and progressive](https://www.chalkbeat.org/colorado/2025/11/06/progressive-school-board-candidates-win-in-many-districts/).

Thankfully, North Carolina [requires](https://ncleg.gov/Sessions/2025/Bills/House/PDF/H805v5.pdf) segregated rooming assignments for public school trips based on biological gender. Governor Josh Stein vetoed this bill. The Republicans managed to override his veto, with only one proper-minded Democrat joining in. The governor and the rest of the North Caorlina Democrats apparently see no problem with 11 year old girls being forced to share a bed with a biological boy while on a school-sanctioned field trip.

As we gear up for next year’s elections, be aware that this crazy and dangerous practice endorsed by the Democrats has not gone away. If given the chance and the major, Democrats will put boys back into girls locker rooms, allow them to brutalize them on the sports field, and room with them on school trips – all without parents being able to do a darn thing.

For the Wilmington Standard, I’m Reuel Sample. Thanks for listening.
