Episode summary:

The episode takes listeners through how the Presbyterian Church (USA) moved from cautious language to effectively blessing “gender‑affirming care” for minors, and why that matters for both the church and the Republic. We walk through the exact wording of the PC(USA)’s resolution, how a key phrase was removed but its meaning kept, and what that says about a denomination that claims the name of Christ while backing puberty blockers and surgeries for kids. Then we look at how many states and even European countries are now pulling back on these treatments, even as PC(USA) charges ahead. Finally, we talk about why a church that abandons Scripture for cultural fads endangers both souls and the moral foundations of our nation.

What you’ll learn

You’ll hear how the PC(USA) framed “gender‑affirming care” as a Gospel issue and why that’s a betrayal of historic Christian teaching. You’ll learn why removing the words “including minors” didn’t actually protect children, and how the resolution’s authors admitted that “all individuals” still means all ages. We lay out how state governments and European health systems are stepping back from puberty blockers and cross‑sex interventions even as a major U.S. denomination doubles down. And you’ll come away with a clearer picture of why a compromised church can’t provide the moral backbone a free republic needs.

Key moments

  • 00:01 – A major denomination “blesses” cutting body parts off children and sets the stage for the episode.
  • 00:12 – The PC(USA) resolution on “gender‑affirming healthcare” and the quiet removal of the phrase “including minors.”
  • 00:52 – The resolution passes 441–30 and is presented as consistent with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
  • 01:09 – How U.S. states and European nations are pulling back from puberty blockers and “gender care” for kids.
  • 01:53 – Why a church that abandons Scripture undermines both the Gospel and the moral foundation of the American Republic.

What you can do

If your denomination, congregation, or pastor is blessing “gender‑affirming care” for children, it is time to ask hard questions—and, if necessary, to walk away. Pray for courage and clarity, refuse to hand your children over to destructive ideology, and support churches that hold fast to Scripture rather than cultural fads. Share this episode with friends, small groups, and church leaders so more believers understand what’s at stake when a denomination trades the Gospel for gender ideology. And stay connected with us as we continue to expose these compromises and stand for families, truth, and the future of our Republic.

Presbyterian Church and Gender Affirming Care

A major US denomination has just given its blessing to cut body parts off children.

This is the Wilmington Standard Daily Update for Thursday, July 9, 2026.

Late in June, the Presbyterian Church in the USA – PC(USA) for short – adopted the following resolution from the Gender and Sexuality Justice Committee to:

Declare that the PC(USA) supports all individuals to have access to all medically necessary, evidence-based gender-affirming healthcare.

The Gender and Sexuality Justice Committee chose to remove the phrase "including minors" from this recommendation at the request of young people who did not want to see this overture misused to cause more harm to transgender minors. This phrase was removed with the clear understanding that "all individuals" does, in fact, include people of all ages.

It passed 441 – 30.

To be clear, the Presbyterian Church just said it is consistent with the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to cut body parts off children and inject them with puberty-blocking drugs that will probably end up sterilizing them.  Over half of the states in our union have put the breaks on transgender care for children.  Europe is also following suit after finding little certainty in the benefits of puberty blockers and other medications.   But the PC(USA) is holding fast to the idea that God wants you to trans your child.

If you are a member of this denomination, either you or your local church – or both – need to seriously consider leaving it behind.  Clearly this flavor of Presbyterians – along with many other major denominations – have left Scripture behind and married themselves to a cultural view that gender is determined by humanity – and not by God.  They are clearly preaching a different Gospel, and will pay the eternal consequences.

We have stated before that our Republic cannot stand without the moral influence of the established church.  Our culture depends on the clear rights and wrongs that only proper preaching of Scripture can provide.  And our Founding Fathers realized that churches need to be protected from government so they can carry out that function.

But – according to the Presbyterians – as long as we can chemically castrate children – none of that matters.
